BA GEOGRAPHY, DOWNING COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE

Aamina Azam is studying Geography at Downing College, Cambridge, and is driven by a deep curiosity about how people and places shape one another. From climate change to urban development, she is passionate about understanding the big challenges facing our world and finding ways to make a meaningful difference.

Being awarded the Sheikh Family scholarship has been an incredible opportunity—not just in easing the financial burden of university but in feeling supported as a Muslim student. It’s given Aamina the chance to focus fully on their studies and explore how geography can be used to create real change.

Beyond academics, she is excited to get involved with COSARAF’S work, and simply connecting with others who share a commitment to education and social impact. Looking ahead, Aamina hopes to use what she learns to contribute to purposeful solutions, bridging the gap between research, policy, and the communities most affected by environmental and social challenges.
