Nilufa is 50 years old and lives with her husband and five children in a rented house. Her youngest son has Down’s Syndrome. Nilufa and her family struggle financially and when she is ill, she is not able to afford treatment for herself.
Nifula has been able to access treatment through the health camp as part of COSARAF’s Ramadan Fund and is now doing much better. She also attended one of the Iftar parties with her son: “Being a mother of a disabled person I am never invited to any social events because people are worried that my son will be a disturbance. But now I have been able to join this party with him and am so grateful for this.”
