Show Racism the Red Card

Who we are

Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is a leading anti-racism education charity founded in 1996.  The organisation uses the influence and profile of professional football, along with other sports to empower positive role models to tackle racism in society and promote equity. Through workshops, training sessions, educational resources and high-profile events, SRtRC engages with young people and adults to challenge prejudiced attitudes and foster inclusion. The campaign is supported by football clubs, players, and community organisations, making it a powerful platform to raise awareness and inspire action against racism in all its forms.

Our project

Interfaith Community Iftar Events

Our new partnership with Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) supports Interfaith Community Iftar Events across Wales. These unique events will bring people of different faiths and backgrounds together, hosted in collaboration with leading football and rugby clubs, including Cardiff City FC, Swansea City AFC, Newport County AFC and Dragons Rugby.

This iftars take place at iconic venues, uniting communities through shared experiences and dialogue.  Each event will include:

  • Inspiring guest speakers sharing their personal journeys and the role of faith in their lives.
  • First-team players and managers joining the conversation and engaging with attendees.
  • Traditional meals, prayers, and activities for families, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

These interfaith events aim to foster understanding, break down stereotypes, and build lasting community bonds. In a time of growing diversity and increasing challenges such as Islamophobia, they provide a vital platform for dialogue, empathy, and unity.

By partnering with SRtRC, we’re aligning with their mission of tackling racism and promoting inclusion through the power of sport. Together, we’re creating opportunities for cultural exchange, mutual respect, and stronger communities.
