Deaf Reach welcomes Director, Tashmina, to the new Lahore campus!

The news

Last week, during our Director, Tashmina’s, first tour of Pakistan, she had the pleasure of visiting the Deaf Reach School & College in Lahore. She attended with colleagues from CareTech Foundation and they were deeply impressed by the facilities and the comprehensive programs offered to the deaf community.

The Lahore campus, which celebrated its first year of operation in 2024, spans 5,000 square yards and currently accommodates over 150 students . The institution provides free education, vocational training, and essential services such as transportation within a 50 km radius, healthy lunches, books, stationery, and uniforms. Notably, their job placement program has successfully facilitated employment for numerous deaf individuals in reputable organisations, including Sapphire Textile, Indus Home, IGI Life Insurance, and KFC in Punjab.
They were particularly inspired by the dedication of the staff and the enthusiasm of the students, reflecting the positive impact of Deaf Reach’s mission to empower the deaf community through quality education and skills training.

Currently, we fund the education of 50 female deaf students, across the Karachi and Lahore campuses.
Director, Tashmina stated ‘This experience was humbling. In this environment, it was I who felt the disability. The children and adults flourished, supported by education, skills development, and community engagement in a setting that exuded empowerment and inclusion. Thank you to the FESF team for allowing me the opportunity to learn from and appreciate your extraordinary work.’
