Who we are
The King’s Trust is one of the UK’s leading youth organisations which gives young people the skills and opportunities they need to turn their lives around. The Trust believes that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter their background or the challenges they are facing, helping young people from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to thrive. The Trust helps young people aged 11-30 develop essential life skills, work readiness and give them access to job opportunities. Since 1976 it has supported over one million young people to transform their lives.
Our project
Enterprise: a legacy of nurturing young entrepreneurs
The COSARAF Foundation trustees are incredibly passionate about enterprise, having built up their own business using their entrepreneurship skills. We have a dedicated partnership with the King’s Trust Enterprise programme in the UK, supporting them for many years now, and have funded 7 young people to launch their own businesses so far in 2023 alone.
For 40 years, The King’s Trust has been helping aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their business ideas and turn them into a reality. The Trust has an extensive track record of supporting young people, many of whom are unemployed or underemployed, to overcome the barriers that hold them back from realising their entrepreneurial aspiration, bridging the gap between their ambitions and the reality of running a business.
The Trust’s tried and tested holistic support package offers young people access to skills, knowledge, networks, finance and mentoring. Through these, young people can initially explore if self-employment is right for them, generate and test their business ideas and then run their own business longer term.
The King’s Trust aims to give all young people, no matter what barriers they may face, the opportunity, skills and inspiration to be the entrepreneurs of tomorrow. To date, over 90,000 businesses have been started with The Trust’s support.
