Rabia resides in an under privileged town in Hyderabad city. Rabia’s story began when her father got sick and wasn’t able to continue to work. In order to do something for her family, Rabia started selling cosmetic products for businesses at salons.
After receiving a microfinance grant of PKR 35,000 from GEAR, Rabia was able to start her own business of selling cosmetic products instead of working for third party sellers. She now sources and sells the items on her own. Her permanent customer list is of 8-10 customers however, during the Eid season she was able to extend that to 40 customers.
Rabia is truly grateful for this micro-finance from GEAR, funded by COSARAF. She is now on her way to expanding this business and fully running it on her own, instead of working for others.
